I decided to learn Portuguese after spending many happy holidays in Brazil and I longed to be able to speak and understand the language beyond 'hello' and 'thank you'! I started classes with Fernando and he has quickly managed to make this possible for me. I am finding it a real pleasure to go to my weekly lessons and each time I am seeing an improvement in my abilities and confidence. What makes Fernando's teaching style so successful is a great combination of learning through music, films and Brazilian culture as a way of illustrating how the language works and sounds. I have found this a great way to learn as it keeps it constantly interesting and lets you combine the practical skills of vocabulary and grammar with real and vibrant examples of speaking Brazilian Portuguese. His classes are fun! I am looking forward to continuing with Fernando next year and hopefully impressing my Brazilian friends with my Portuguese when I next go to Brazil.
